General

Admission Temporaire Roulette (ATR / ATR.1)

Used for the movement of goods between the European Union and Turkey. An ATR certifies that the goods have been brought into free circulation in either the EU or Turkey and have therefore already gone through all import procedures. An ATR is not a certificate of origin.

Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy Free Declaration (BSE Free Cert)

Required for foods and food additives containing ruminants and by-products of ruminants (except for milk and dairy products and collagen casing). It declares that the ingredients used in the products listed on the certificate do not contain any prohibited materials and that the manufacturing process and packaging are equally free of contamination.

Certificate of Origin (CO / CoO)

An important international trade document that certifies that goods in a particular export shipment are wholly obtained, produced, manufactured, or processed in a particular country. It declares the ‘nationality’ of the product and also serves as a declaration by the exporter to satisfy customs or trade requirements.

EUR.1 Movement Certificate

Used to support claims for preferential (usually zero) rates of duty in the country of importation within the EU or other export countries with a Free Trade Agreement with the EU.

Used to move goods between countries of the Pan-Euro-Mediterranean cumulation.

European Community / Union Certificate of Origin (EC CoO)

Issued for goods that are being sold and permanently exported outside the EU to non-Arab League countries as well as Egypt and Iran.

Generalized System of Preferences Form A (GSP Form A)

Required to validate claims for preferential duty treatment (a reduced or duty-free entry).

Non Preferential Certificate of Origin

Non-preferential rules of origin are used to determine the country of origin of goods for the application of the most-favored nation treatment (MFN) but also for the implementation of a number of commercial policy measures such as anti-dumping and countervailing duties, trade embargoes, safeguard measures and quantitative restrictions or tariff quotas. They are also used for trade statistics, public tenders and origin marking. The EU applies its own set of non-preferential rules of origin provisions, which may be different from those of any other third country.

Arab League (Britain / Ireland)

Arab-British / Irish Certificate of Origin (Arab CoO)

Issued for goods that are being sold and permanently exported to Arab League countries.

Argentina

Argentina Certificate of Origin (AR CoO)

Used to prove the origin of the goods exported from Argentina and the recipient of the goods would benefit from the application of the preferential rates of customs duty in the country in which the goods will be imported.

Australia

Australia Certificate of Origin (AU CoO)

Certificate of Australian Origin, used to specify exported goods that have been grown, produced or manufactured in Australia.

Free Trade Agreement between Australia & Chile, reducing or eliminating barriers to trade in goods between the two countries.

Free Trade Agreement between Australia & India, reducing or eliminating barriers to trade in goods between the two countries.

Australia Certified Declaration of Origin (AU DoO)

Verifies the origin of goods manufactured outside Australia and or combined in a shipment with Australian originating products.

China-Australia Free Trade Agreement Certificate of Origin (ChAFTA CoO)

Acts as documentary evidence that goods originate from Australia or China in accordance with the provisions of the China-Australia Free Trade Agreement, eliminating or reducing barriers to trade in goods between Australia and China. One of the immediate benefits of ChAFTA for exporters of goods is the rapid reduction or complete elimination of tariffs across a wide range of products.

Trade agreement providing Australian businesses a gateway to Latin America (Peru) and vice-versa, strengthening economic relationships with the region and helping facilitate value chains between Americas and South East Asia.

Singapore-Australia Free Trade Agreement Certificate of Origin (SAFTA CoO)

Central pillar of the economic relationship with Singapore, Australia's largest trade and investment partner in APAC. In addition to tariff elimination, the Agreement improves increased market access for Australian exporters of services, particularly education, environmental, telecommunications, and professional services. It also provides a more open and predictable business environment across a range of areas, including competition policy, government procurement, intellectual property, e-commerce, customs procedures, and business travel.

Used to reduce or eliminate barriers to trade in goods between Thailand and Australia.

Ireland

Ireland Certificate of Origin (IE CoO)

Used to prove the origin of the goods exported from Ireland and, where relevant, the recipient of the goods would benefit from the application of the preferential rates of customs duty in the country in which the goods will be imported.

Latvia

Latvia Certificate of Origin (LV CoO)

Used to prove the origin of the goods exported from Latvia and, where relevant, the recipient of the goods would benefit from the application of the preferential rates of customs duty in the country in which the goods will be imported.

New Zealand

New Zealand Certificate of Origin (NZ CoO)

Certificate of New Zealand Origin, used to specify exported goods that have been wholly obtained or substantially transformed in New Zealand

New Zealand

New Zealand China Free Trade Agreement Certificate of Origin (NZCFTA CoO)

Used for certifying the origin of imported goods in New Zealand from China and exported goods to China from New Zealand.

Slovenia

Slovenia Certificate of Origin (SI CoO)

Used to prove the origin of the goods exported from Slovenia and, where relevant, the recipient of the goods would benefit from the application of the preferential rates of customs duty in the country in which the goods will be imported.

United Kingdom

United Kingdom Certificate of Origin (UK CoO)

Issued for goods that are being sold from the UK and permanently exported to non-Arab countries as well as Egypt and Iran.

Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP CoO)

Free trade agreement between 11 countries: Australia, Brunei Darussalam, Canada, Chile, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, Peru, New Zealand, Singapore and Vietnam. 
 

Multi-country (Australia, New Zealand + more)

ASEAN-Australia-New Zealand Free Trade Area (AANZFTA CoO)

Free trade agreement between Australia, New Zealand and the 10 ASEAN countries (Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam).

Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP CoO)

Free trade agreement between 15 countries: Australia, Brunei​, China, Cambodia, Indonesia, Korea, Japan, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam.

Dominican Republic-Central America free trade agreement (CAFTA-DR CoO) 

Free trade agreement between between the United States and its Central American neighbors Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, and the Dominican Republic.

Multi-country (USA, Mexico, Canada)

United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA)

Free trade agreement between the United States, Mexico and Canada, replacing NAFTA. Under USMCA, there is no specific Certificate of Origin requirement, but rather an extensive list of requirements that must be documented in your origin declaration, which now also recognizes electronic and digital signature of origin documentation. essCert is developing a web-based tool to help exporters comply with the new origin documentation requirements.
